Cerce, principal/founding member of Management Capital LLC, a Providence-based investment firm that specializes in providing leadership and capital to middle-market companies, participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) and attended by more than 100 small business owners from around the region. The event was entitled, “Searching for Investment Capital: Under the Radar Screen.” Mr. Cerce joined two other top investment company representatives from Massachusetts in presenting their view of the investment process in general. Mr. Cerce spoke from two perspectives: as previous president and owner of AIA/Foster Grant, a $250 million retail jewelry and accessories company; and as a current partner in the investment and leadership firm, Management Capital, which is responsible for over 100 transactions requiring in excess of $1 billion of capital. He spoke about a business owner's objectives and expectations and gave sound advice about establishing chemistry early on between investor and investment.
